<p>Facebook raised $16 billion in its historic IPO. Facebook sold 421 million shares for $38 each, a price that valued the company at $104 billion, 107 times its profits in the last year.</p>
<p>The biggest winner in the Facebook IPO is its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, who has always made clear that what he cares about is building Facebook into a powerhouse. He didn’t leave any money on the table in this IPO. There was no big IPO pop, suggesting that Facebook sold shares for the maximum amount possible.<br />

&#8220;Video curation platform Shortform is launching a few new features that will make it easier for its video jockeys (VJs) to curate and share content with friends and followers.</p>

<p>Shortform is introducing a bookmarklet for adding videos to their channels. The bookmarklet will work with all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer), making it easier for VJs to instantly update their playlists without having to open a new tab, copy and paste the URL, etc.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>In addition to adding videos to their channels, the bookmarklet will also find all videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and CollegeHumor that are on a given page so that users can choose between them.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Shortform is also rolling out Facebook Open Graph integration, which will seamlessly share the channels that users are watching.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>According to Shortform CEO Nader Ghaffari, the choice to share channels and not individual videos was not just meant to avoid spamming user news feeds, like some other high-profile video startups have over the past few weeks. It was also because Shortform is, at its core, about curated collections of videos, and it hopes to highlight those collections rather than individual pieces of content&#8230;&#8221;</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">The writer Paolo Volponi used to say that the wines of the <strong>Marche region</strong> were similar to the local people: changing from valley to valley, with their own distinct characteristics.<br />
There is just one exception. The valley comprising <strong>Monte San Vicino</strong> in the east, the <strong>Monti del Catria</strong> in the west, the <strong>Sibillini</strong> in the south with <strong>Matelica</strong> in the centre: the <strong>Valle Camerte</strong>, an area producing a unique and versatile wine defined by Marco Soldati as sharp, rustic and refined – the <strong>Verdicchio of Matelica</strong>.<br />
Described as a full flavored white wine which naturally accompanies fish dishes, it is also ideal with many of the delicious local Maceratese specialties, including rabbit or chicken seasoned with rosemary, roast suckling pig seasoned with wild fennel and even with specialties found at the pork-butcher, <strong>ciauscolo</strong> in primis.<br />
Bacon chops and shoulder cuts of pork are added to considerable amount of fats in order to keep them tender; seasoned with salt, pepper, fennel, garlic and vino cotto, they are then finely chopped and minced so as to obtain a homogeneous texture to stuff it into the intestines which are used as containers. Next, the ciauscolo is smoked and then kept in a cool and airy place to complete its short curing process.<br />
Along with this exquisite spreadable salami, there are other ways to enjoy pork; starting with the brawn – the salami is eaten as a starter. Following the slaughtering and salting, the real centerpieces are produced from the pork offal – <strong>mazzafegato</strong> or salsiccia matta. The distinct, pure flavors of the interior areas of Macerata province have similarities and differences with other regions of the Apennines. They also share similar customs including the old tradition of herding.<br />
Lamb has always had a privileged place in both menus in restaurants and in home cooking. In the region of the <strong>Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini</strong>, such as <strong>Monte San Martino</strong> and <strong>Visso</strong>, dairies offering handmade produce have also maintained their importance.</p>

Those are three formidable competitors and PandoDaily was competing on the West Coast turf of TechCrunch, Lacy&#8217;s ex-employer. But Lacy had a couple of aces up her sleeve, in the form of TechCrunch founder Michael &#8220;The Dark Knight&#8221; Arrington and his earnest Robin, M G Siegler. Unfortunately, the dynamic duo were forced out less than three months later by Lacy. Meanwhile, AllThingsD superheroes Kara Swisher and Walt Mossberg have been on a tear this year, often scooping TechCrunch on important business news in the technology sector.<br />

<p>How you dress your website says a great deal about your personality and the type of person you want to attract. Like people, your website’s various colors, layout and functionality can have drastically different appeal.</p>
<p>A study by Jamy Li and Mark Chignell of the University of Toronto reveals how readers are more attracted to authors they judge to be similar to themselves. The language you use and how it is delivered are your strongest cues to personality, but what if you want to attract an audience you don’t necessarily fit in?</p>
<p>As identity designer David Airey puts it, “Your website opens doors to contacts you’d never imagine you’d meet. Now more than ever, millions of people have access to your online presence, and whether you like it or not, they’ll immediately judge you upon your site design.”<br />

<p>Co-founder and CEO Stephen Hibberd says that the goal was to create something that could take most of the difficulty and uncertainty out of creating marketing campaigns on social networks. You can start off with pre-built campaigns and templates, so you don’t have to create anything from scratch, and you’re tapping into Tiger Pistol’s knowledge about best practices. There’s a drag-and-drop interface, so you can customize those campaigns without any technical knowledge. Then you can track the data about your campaign’s effectiveness and reach, including the number of participants and their conversion rates.<br />
