FARMINGTON — For the fifth year, Colorado artists will be opening their studio doors to give visitors a glimpse of an artist’s inspiration.
The Durango Open Studio Tour starts at 11 a.m. Saturday and continues Sunday. It features 22 artists in Durango, Bayfield and Ignacio.
Friday night, doors will be opened at the Durango Arts Center, where some of the participating artists will be displaying their work.
Nick Blaisdell, a ceramic artist, will show his work. He will also be showing at Feat of Clay Gallery in Aztec later this month as part of the gallery’s ceramics show.
Blaisdell said he makes highly-decorated stoneware, but a lot of it is not functional.
“The work sort of speaks for itself,” Blaisdell said.
Blaisdell, who has been doing pottery since 1965, said he has dedicated his life to art.
