Missing Google Reader? Here are two bloggers who aren’t.
Share

Today Google officially shut down its popular RSS reader, much to the dismay of many who relied on it to stay current with preferred sources.

But not everyone is dismayed by this development—two bloggers are actually cheering it in their latest posts.

In “RSS Jedis: May the Force be With You,” HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes makes the claim that in an online information market dominated by social media, the RSS feed is quickly going the way of the dinosaur.

In “Google Reader: Thank You for Shutting Down on July 1,” Kyle Jones took the opportunity of Reader’s demise to rediscover the joys of the RSS feed.

So, what are your thoughts on Google’s decision to kill Reader—boon or bust?
