Facebook Hashtags Impact on Brands | Social Media Today
Share

I think almost everyone saw Facebook roll out hashtags yesterday. Yet, I have to admit as of now, I still do not have them working on my pages.

Social Media Today takes a look at the pros and cons of having hashtags within Facebook. One of the first is being able to integrate campaigns all over your social media network. Your brands hashtag can now be used to search for you on all of the major platforms which will really help when trying to keep up with the ROI of your campaigns.

How about being able to monitor your brands via your customers using hashtags. If a customer is having trouble with your company and they use a hashtag on facebook, it will now be searchable for you to find it and respond to that person immediately. This will make it harder for customers to publically have conflict with companies and think it won’t be seen by you!

I also love how the author brings up the point that a lot of people think Facebook is copying Twitter and Google+ by using hashtags as well. I tend to agree with the author that hashtags work really well, and make searching much easier. Why wouldn’t Facebook want to try this out? You can’t quite blame them for it.

In my humble opinion, I wish Facebook would roll out the ability to edit posts before they add anything else. Please Facebook, please?
