As a journalist, I learnt really early in my career to verify sources. I have never been afraid of lawsuits, it’s more about being ethical and providing my audience with the most accurate information possible.
The big problem is that, not everyone takes the time to check if what they share on social media is true or not. And this became really apparent during the Boston Marathon bombings.
I rarely share articles from Mashable, but this one is definitely worth a read.
