Mother’s Day is celebrated on different days around the world. In Mexico it is celebrated May 10th. It was imported from the United States in 1922. In the mid 1930’s the celebration began being celebrated in the Mexican schools. In the 1940’s the Mother’s Day became a political issue about women’s equality and the separation of church and state. Today “Día de las Madres” is an unofficial holiday in Mexico
