Phishing is an attempt to gather information or access by pretending to be someone with a legitimate need for that info.
Most of us have run into it in some way. Those emails that ask us to log into our bank account to confirm an address, etc.
Christina Lemmey has discovered that scammers are ‘phishing by phone too’.
But yesterday I experienced a brand new scam (to me, anyway) where the scammers CALL YOUR HOME PHONE and feed you all kind of lines about how they work for Windows Live (part of Microsoft) and they need access to my computer to erase some malicious and corrupt virus and malware files.
