12 Ways To Ensure You’re Legally Using Online Photos
Share

Sara Hawkins has come up with a great list of 12 ways to ensure you are using online photos legally. I know all of us struggle daily to find good photos that are not copyrighted that we can use in our social media, blogs, websites, etc.

Out of the 12 tips, 3 really stood out to me:

  • Ask and you may receive
-ask for permission to use a photo, do not assume that you can use an image, or that the owner of the image may want you to use it a specific way
  • Assume every image you find online is copyrighted
-check the images, and just assume the image is copyrighted, and do your homework on the image
  • Making changes to a copyrighted image does not make it yours
-just because you own a photo changing program does not mean when you change the color of someone’s eyes to blue means the image is yours

These are 12 great tips to think about when looking for images to use. What tips do you use when looking for images?
