I’m a Google Gal and I have a t-shirt to prove it. I love my Google Reader and am pretty upset about its impending demise. I don’t know how I can go on without my Reader. Thank goodness, Digg, is coming to my rescue.
Google Reader is a blog aggregation tool, meaning I can subscribe to blogs using my Reader. So instead of going to each and every one of the blogs I love, I can see all their new content from Google’s Reader. It’s a real time saver!
In Mashable‘s post, Fear Not, Digg Is Building A Google Reader Alternative, we learn how Digg feels Google’s Reader is far to valuable to do away with. I completely agree. From the post:
While the blog post was timed around news of Reader’s demise, McLaughlin says that Digg had been planning to create an RSS reader for some time.
“We’ve been planning to build a reader in the second half of 2013, one that, like Digg, makes the Internet a more approachable and digestible place. After Google’s announcement, we’re moving the project to the top of our priority list,” he says.
They also share some tips about Google Reader Alternatives. Check it out, if you love Google’s Reader as much as I do and want to know how you can use a Reader for all your blog subscriptions.
