How To Make Your Content Marketing Roar Like A Lion In 2013
Share

Hi Tom George here and thank you for visiting the Internet Billboards. This next piece I am going to cover for you I found at The Sales Lion.

First before we begin, if you are new to the site, or you are a returning visitor, you might like to subscribe to get “The Web Curated” You can join with the box to the right.

It is a selection of hand picked stories selected by our team of curator’s. No, I am not going to offer the usual enticement’s, such as a free eBook or how to make your site skyrocket with curation, although we could talk about that for sure. I am actually going to do one better, but you will have to subscribe to find out.

So shall we begin. “The Sales Lion”. Right off the bat I love the name, it roars with sales prowess, and pulls you in.

This piece certainly did not disappoint and I can take my hat off to it’s author Marcus Sheridan. I did get goose bumps because after reading the piece I see that Marcus has or had a pool company in and around Maryland, Virginia and Washington Dc, and this is similar to me because I founded Shape Shifter Fitness, which is a leading personal training company serving well you guessed it, Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.

Marcus is also a Hubspot partner, which also just adds so much credibility to what he is saying. Hubspot, if you are not familiar with them is a leading company for inbound marketing, and has an award winning system for companies to attract, get and retain new business.

As a matter of fact he even goes on to say that Hubspot helped turn around his pool company and made his one of the most successful ones in the entire area.

So here is a guy who has one business, perhaps like you, turned it around by using the best content marketing strategy available to him, started another company to help people accomplish the same goals, and now is expounding on this entire process.

Remember these are 8 renegade methods for using content marketing to dominate your industry in 2013.  I really liked number 4, but they are all very good.

In Marcus’s words.

4. Use platforms and methods that have not previously been used in your industry.

As someone that consults with businesses about digital marketing on a consistent basis, one of the first questions clients like to ask is the following:

Who else in our industry is having success doing it this way?

Although this isn’t necessarily a bad question, it can be a sign of negative things to come. Why? Because it really doesn’t matter what other companies have done in terms of digital marketing and what platforms they’ve been on.

So what if no one has a blog in your industry?

So what if no one uses video effectively?

So what if no one has found a way to utilize Facebook and get returns?

So what if no one has a podcast in your realm?

Well there you have it, just follow the link above for the full story. Seriously this is  a must read. If you like the article be sure to let both Marcus and myself know by leaving a comment on our sites. I give this article a 9 out of 10 on my curation scale. It not only is renegade, it is full of real world examples and practices that are working.
