Facebook updates Messaging system, tests optional paid delivery

Would you pay to connect with someone you don’t know on Facebook? The company seems to think so.

The new option, still in the test phase, consists in charging users a small fee (around $1) whenever they want to privately contact people they do not know on the social network. The messages will land directly in the recipients’ Inbox instead of their Other folder.
