Cultivating People & Passion by Curating Content & Community | via @nickkellet

Just finished reading the article. I to find passion and inspiration from the web. I feel blessed to be able to interact with so many wonderful people. The information is valuable when we hold it in high regard and have esteem for our fellow colleagues, curators and peers. Distribution of content through social media in it’s present state is the single biggest hindrance to collective intelligence while simultaneously it’s biggest asset. A conundrum if ever there was one.

I consider Kevin a good friend, oddly we’ve never met. We have skyped. We’ve swapped lots of ideas and emails. I met Kevin initially via #usguys on Twitter.

Blogs are for sharing passions. Blogs are for connecting people with their passion. It’s not just blogs. That’s really what the web is for. Or that’s what it enables. That’s the real goal of technology – to get out of the way and let people connect.

The web is a data publishing platform (the what), but how and why blogs (and the internet) get used matters more. When people connect, passions get stirred and groups and communities form. We bond around things that matter to us. That’s what inspires me about the web. It’s a source of great energy for me. Energy and inspiration.
