A new tracking technology. This can sound ominous indeed. IFA, which stands for Identifier For Advertisers, and yes the technology is in the IOS 6 operating system. Not to worry though, I think Apple is playing fair. Of course they are playing for the advantage which can only be expected. So don’t hate the player, hate the game, but none the less I think they are playing fair. It was only a matter of time, before we really started getting hit with ads that were tailored for us. Read this great piece and let me know if you think Apple is playing fair or not. Then I will tell you why I think they are.

Apple’s launch of the iPhone 5 in September came with a bunch of new commercials to promote the device.

But Apple didn’t shout quite so loud about an enhancement to its new mobile operating system, iOS 6, which also occurred in September: The company has started tracking users so that advertisers can target them again, through a new tracking technology called IFA or IDFA.
