The Estate takes its name from Poggio Canoso, one of the fours castles of Rotella small town, in Ascoli Piceno province, in the southern Marche region.
Here, among impressive mountains and charming valleys in the heart of Sibillini National Park, the young businessman Riccardo Reina felt in love with Marche lands so much to set up a new ambitious wine project.
The property covers a total of 100 hectares (247 acres) and lies on the 43rd parallel, one latitude particularly suited to vine-growing and pruduction of important wines. The vineyards extend for 25 hectares (62 aces) across Tesino Valley – from the Apennines to Adriatic Sea – benefiting from the warm summer breeze. Mount Ascensione lies behind them and although the surrounding zone is rather bleak, rainfall is frequent, guaranteeing a successful grape cultivation.
