Wine Review: 2010 Saladini Pilastri Rosso Piceno Marches Italy Sangiovese
Share

This is an Italian winery that has embraced new world wine making techniques and I have to say “Lord have mercy halleluiah!” The blend is 80% Sangiovese and 20% Montepulciano. This winery has delivered where so many have tried and failed. It is a fruity but well composed medium body wine with larger than life character. Oh yeah did I mention it is made from organically grown grapes? It is and that is another indicator of the forward thinking embraced by this producer. A better value you would have to search long and hard for, but you will not have to look too far to find cuisine that this wine will pair well with; in fact pretty much everything except delicate white fish and citrusy sauces will work.
Rating: Excellent (90) | $10 | 13.5% ABV
