We’ve heard the same rhetoric since 2009- nobody clicks on banner ads anymore. 99% of internet users do not click ads and those that do are often members of the wrong audience—older, lower income, basically irrelevant. Building a relationship with customers has always been a challenge. With the ADD, mile-a-minute online habits of customers, it’s no wonder that banner ads are failing.
Recently, a new wave of digital advertising services has begun to permeate all corners of the web and allowed brands to reach beyond their normal networks. With the help of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube, Social advertising has burst onto the scene.
