We’ve seen how valuable LinkedIn is to professionals for developing connections and furthering their business, but you probably didn’t realise just how valuable you are to the professional social networking site, and just how well it’s doing because of this.Forbes’ cover story on how LinkedIn became the business it is now is well worth a read, but what really stands out is just how successful it has become because of this. After taking ComScore’s Web-usage data and public financial filings, Forbes’ George Anders calculated that for every hour that each user spends on the site: LinkedIn generates $1.30 while Facebook, with over 900 million members and counting, only generates $0.06, roughly 21 times less than LinkedIn.
