How to join a Twitter chat (and why it matters)

See on Scoop.itinternetbillboards

Participating in Twitter chats can be a simple way to find other people with whom you share an interest or industry. It’s also an especially great way to build your network and credibility online by showing your own expertise and passion around given topics.

Twitter chats are simply a public conversation held on Twitter. They are open to anyone, held at designated times (generally as either a one-off about a certain topic, or at a standing day and time for specific industries or interests such as #TravelTuesday), and are entirely threaded together by a common hashtag (word following a “#” sign) predetermined by the chat organizers.
