Google+ celebrated its first birthday yesterday, right in the middle of the Google I/O event where the company showed off all sorts of new stuff like the Nexus 7 tablet, Android’s Jellybean update, Google Glass, and the Nexus Q home entertainment hub. And while Google+ was heralded by fans at the start as a Facebook competitor, a year later it has yet to prove itself as a significant threat in the realm of social media.
But I contend that Google+ is more than people expect.
