The Pointless Debate Over Web Curation vs. Aggregation Here we have an update on the current state of curation and aggregation on the web and the humming and hawing it creates at the trough (which is of course wrapped in an idea of intellectual property, but… wait for it… yup – it’s really all about the money corporations can make by curating and aggregating information, which in my mind is simple, it’s called: making free information pay – that was a concept I learned in the nineties from reading a chap named Gerry McGovern when he was cutting his webonomic teeth at a site called ‘New Thinking’. I used to publish his articles in my print biweekly back in the day, and I still read him – he’s brilliant of course.
