La Casa degli Amori sits in the middle of an area once known as ”the garden of Treia“, now open farm land. The former farmhouse, built in 1850, has far reaching 360 degree views including the Sibillini mountains, the nearby hills above San Lorenzo and the town of Treia. It was restored in 2004. Now the home of Sandy and Laurence Love its restoration was literally “a labour of love”. There is an independent staircase leading to the second floor accommodation. Once home to 25 members of one family, who left the house in 1975, it has been converted into four bedrooms each with en-suite facilities and two tastefully furnished connecting sitting rooms.
Laurence Love has been working as a practising Blacksmith / Wrought – ironsmith since 1966. In 1979 he designed and ran the ironwork courses for CoSira/Rural Development Commission. First in Wimbledon and later in Salisbury, Wiltshire. For the next seven years he instructed working smiths and trainees, both in house and in their own workshops, all over England. From 1985 he ran his own business in Wiltshire producing hand-forged commissions for clients in Great Britain and also exporting to other countries. He is now living and working in Marche, Italy offering courses to anyone who is interested in the creative craft of the wrought ironsmith.
