The reason I started this project was a sweet, smart and very special little kid. Her name is Rachel and she’s my Princess.
(that’s what I call her ☺)
Every day, she had homework she used to ask me to help her with… That used to make my days. I loved to help her with her homework.
So, there was this day I was trying to help her with algebra, and I could see her frustration because I wasn’t there with her.
For you to understand, I should tell you I live thousands of miles away from Princess, so I had to help her with homework using MSN Messenger; and with algebra, I had to draw equations and teach her how I solved them in the drawing, then send it to her as a file.
That was frustrating because children need face-to-face contact in order to learn step by step equations; that’s how they memorize and understand.
When they’re learning, they have to listen to you, see you, and watch you clearly explain what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.
I felt very bad because I couldn’t be next to Princess to help her. She stopped asking me for help with math.
That was very hard for me.
