I’ve been having a hard time convincing some of my clients that blogging needs to be part of their online marketing strategy. Especially elected officials and political candidates. They tend to believe that all they need to do is slap a static website up, say hello on Facebook once in awhile, and they’re set to attract voters. The “build it and they will come,” theory. Well, any professional involved in current online marketing and social media knows that method does not work. There is no “one size fits all,” path to success. It’s about creating relationships. And you have to drive traffic.

  • Hi Keri,

When we first started talking I don’t know if you recall I mentioned I was pretty apolitical, but I enjoyed the article. I know the 2012 political climate is going to get hot. So way to go helping people relax a bit.

  • Thank you for featuring my article here.

This was a fun one to write, and a post I think people needed to jog their thoughts with a bit of humor before the campaigning gets hot and heavy in 2012!

    Enjoy…
