To find out how young entrepreneurs can succeed in the business world today, I spoke to Alexis Ohanian. He is the retired co-founder of reddit (acquired by Condé Nast) and presently founder of breadpig, trustee of the Awesome Foundation, angel investor, and a Kiva Fellow. Reddit gets over 20M visitors a month and is one of the most trafficked websites in the world. His first book is tentatively called Without Your Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made – Not Managed. In this interview, Alexis tells his story about how he founded one of the most popular sites on the net, summarizes his new book, gives tips for young entrepreneurs and more.

The world isn’t flat, but the world wide web is. There’s an opportunity today like no other we’ve seen, where anyone with an Internet connection and the drive and talent can produce something for a global audience. Using success stories like my own and many others, I will inspire and guide readers to success in a world where you don’t need anyone’s permission to change the world.

  • Not sure if I have been able to ask for either ever. Perhaps I will just ask for the forgiveness. LOL. No one in their right mind would give me permission anyway. LOL.

  • Definitely know it is far easier to ask for forgiveness than permission! Good quote, Tom.
