Social Media Marketing Is Not Marketing On Social Media: Mari Smith from Blogworld [Video]

A few days ago I was talking to a European entrepreneur who is planning to release in a few days a new version of his curation tool. His business rationale was somewhat like this: “See… people do not have time to post to their Facebook or Twitter, and it takes time for them to find the good stuff. So my new tool is going to help just do that. Find and post (even automatically) the best and most relevant news out there to your followers!”.
That didn’t get me jumping really, though I can’t deny, that most people out there do see the issue in exactly those terms.
Well… as soon as I saw this video of Mari Smith, I thought of him. I think she has a relevant message for those who think that filling your channel with content – when you don’t have the time or don’t know what to choose – is the best thing to do.

Seven minutes of refreshing reminders of what social media marketing is all about and why it is so important to distinguish between just being content broadcaster and having a true, engaging relationship with your customers and fans.

Recommended. 8/10
