COMPARISONITIS: the act of comparing oneself or one’s gifts to another deemed as superior. Do you suffer from comparisonitis? I know I do — at least I did the past couple of weeks. It all began innocently enough by participating in a blog hop. PLEASE NOTE – I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with blog hops at all. However, my focus wasn’t “Wow! Look at this Mom’s blog and how she’s using her gifts in her ministry to her family”. It was “Wow, look at this Mom and how eloquent she speaks….the trips she takes…the stuff she has…the pizazz of her blog…the perfectly dressed, coordinated and clean pictures of her children….” I was using the measure of grace and gifting bestowed upon those other Moms and measuring it against myself.
