(CBS News) Over the last year, the rumor mill has been chockablock with stories suggesting Apple intended to enter the television business. Maybe there was more to it than many folks thought. A leaked excerpt from an upcoming biography of Steve Jobs suggests that Apple’s former CEO was keen “to do for television sets what he had done for computers, music players, and phones” by making them “simple and elegant.” “I’d like to create an integrated television set that is completely easy to use,” Jobs was quoted by Walter Isaacson in his upcoming volume, Steve Jobs,” which will be published Monday by Simon & Schuster.
