When Facebook became a big deal a couple of years ago, it was fairly easy to predict that some brands would quickly become popular there.It didn’t take a genius to see that, for example, Starbucks would have a big following. The brand has a tech-savvy clientele who are frequently filing a status update from one of the chain’s many locations. (Full disclosure: This story is being written at a Starbucks.) Likewise, you’d have to try hard to screw up Coca-Cola’s inevitable path to Facebook success, and at times it appeared that Coke was trying to do just that.
