I just watched WALL STREET 2 MONEY NEVER SLEEPS this weekend and the film did not disappoint. Michael Douglas delivered the goods and Shai LaBEOUF delivered what I thought was a very good performance. All the actors did a great job, but the movie made me think allot about money. Specifically how money is made and lost and how the wealthy exploit and use exploitation as the means to the end, except for them it’s not really exploiting, it’s just an under valued situation.
There were a few great lines and some tense situations in the film. Michael Douglas did eight years in prison for his insider trading and other white collar crimes and while he was incarcerated he writes a book on money and his many exploits, after being released from prison, about seven years later he is almost back in the game or is he, until he can manage to get to his daughter who wants nothing to do with him and just happens to be the significant other to the character Shai LaBEOUF plays.
Anyway facts really might be starnger then fiction, or as they say truth. Anyway it really made me think. If you see the movie I am sure it will make you think as well. Michael Douglas says in a fairly tense scene, “It’s about the game” Maybe this is somewhat true, even in real life and you have to be able to play the game well if you want to network like a Wall Street 2 Money Never Sleeps kind of Guy or Girl. You see these people don’t just burn bridges. They blow them to kingdom come, and they take no prisoners.
The difference is they learned how to make a few friends and how to make a few enemies. The world is full of vanilla. You have to distinguish yourself from the pack. Why are you doing what your doing? Is it to get rich? Or is it to get something else. What is your motivation. Don’t hate the playa, hate the game.
Anyway to network today in the present age of the Internet with all the hype and social media, you better put your game face on. You are going to need to be organized, methodical, and above all patient. You are going to have to have the right profiles, the right connections and also be willing to give first. If you build your network and do it carefull over time, you will eventually find the right people, or get to the people that will help you in ways you never imagined. The idea is to have a successful enterprize right. To build something substantial of lasting value right. Well no one does something that extraordiary all on their own trust me they have a little help along the way.
I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did and please feel free to hit me up anytime or just stop by to say hello at my club. It’s at http://socialsuccessclub.com
